Buy a piece of history. The Chestnut trees are all but extinct from blight in the early 1900’s. The blight left the trees susceptible to borers that gives the wood its distinctive wormy look. This wood is highly sought after for its rare and unique qualities. These doors came from the historic Willard Hotel in downtown Toledo. The hotel decorated by the renowned artist William Matthews in the style of an English Inn with its warm Chestnut walls, leaded glass and murals inspired by the works of Charles Dickens. Not all the doors have casings or hardware attached. Email me if you would like to see them on site at our Toledo location. We have many that have been preserved in storage. The measurements of the doors are: 2'4 width 6'8 height 1 3/8 Thickness Jams Width: 5 1/2 inches (some have the door jams and some do not) The wood is in excellent condition.
